Security Risk Assessments for Australian Organisations

Go beyond a simple audit. Intrix provides strategic risk assessments mapped to APRA CPS 234, SOCI Act, ISM, and IEC 62443 to build a prioritised, effective security roadmap

Understand Your True Risk Posture

Today’s rising threats and complex regulations make it impossible to protect everything equally. A focused risk assessment is the first step toward building a smart, cost-effective, and resilient cyber defence program. One that aligns your security investments with real business risk.

Traditional compliance audits often miss the mark. They deliver long reports full of technical findings but lack prioritisation or practical guidance, leaving decision-makers unsure where to focus their efforts.

Intrix takes a different approach. We tailor our assessments to your industry and regulatory needs whether in finance, government, critical infrastructure, healthcare, manufacturing, or technology. We turn technical risks into clear business insights with prioritised, actionable roadmaps for stronger security.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in a security risk assessment?

A security risk assessment from Intrix includes asset identification and classification, a gap analysis against relevant frameworks such as APRA CPS 234, the SOCI Act, the ISM or IEC 62443, and a prioritised remediation roadmap. You receive a clear, business focused report rather than a long technical findings list.

A compliance audit checks whether you meet a specific standard, often producing a long list of findings with no clear priority. A security risk assessment goes further, mapping those findings to actual business risk and giving you a prioritised roadmap that tells you exactly what to fix first and why.

Most security risk assessments are completed within two to four weeks, depending on the size of your environment and the number of regulatory frameworks involved. Discovery and assessment typically take the bulk of that time, with analysis and roadmap delivery following shortly after.

We assess against the frameworks relevant to your industry, including APRA CPS 234 for financial services, the SOCI Act for critical infrastructure, the Information Security Manual and PSPF for government, and IEC 62443 for manufacturing and operational technology environments. We tailor the assessment scope to your specific regulatory obligations.

The SOCI Act requires responsible entities for critical infrastructure assets to register those assets, report significant cyber incidents within set timeframes, and maintain a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program covering cyber, personnel, supply chain and physical hazards. Enhanced rules for high risk asset classes are currently under consultation and expected to apply over the next two years.

Most organisations should repeat a security risk assessment annually, or sooner following a significant change to systems, regulations or threat exposure. With the SOCI Act’s enhanced CIRMP Rules currently under consultation, critical infrastructure operators should plan to reassess as soon as the new rules are finalised, rather than waiting for the next scheduled cycle.
