Mobile Apps Sensitive Data At Risk Due to Misconfigured Firebase Databases

The latest research from Check Point reports that misconfigured cloud database implementations are putting the data of millions of mobile app users at risk. Due to this vulnerability, threat actors can exploit at least 2,113 apps that use the Firebase cloud database.

According to the research, significant apps with up to 10 million downloads are also on the list. Malicious actors can easily manipulate the databases and demand ransomware.

With the increased usage of cloud computing for storing sensitive data, cloud security systems need to improve the vulnerabilities found in misconfigured cloud infrastructures.
